” I want my life back.”- Britney Spears.

Money indeed cannot buy happiness. We have yet another example of the same in front of us. Britney spears is an America based pop- singer. Who doesn’t know her? But she was put under conservatorship following her very public breakdown in 2008. Following a year of seemingly erratic behaviour such as shaving her head and attacking a paparazzo’s car with an umbrella. The singer was then put under a “5150 hold” in a psychiatric hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Conservatorship under U. S. Law, a conservatorship is the appointment of a guardian or a protector by a judge to manage the financial affairs and/or daily life of another person due to old age or physical or mental limitations.

Britney was under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears, since 2008. He used to manage her finances. But it was till yesterday, 24/06/2021 that she opened in the Court and told about her mental trauma which was because of the authority which others hold on her. She further told that she wants to start a family with her boyfriend but she is not allowed to do so. She is allowed to have any more children. For the last 13 years, she thinks she doesn’t hold any authority over herself. She can’t even talk to her father or mother about it as she is scared. She thinks her father enjoys the control that he has over her. Thus, she pleaded to the court to end her conservatorship so that she can get her life back.

I hope that the court listens to her and give her that everyone has the right of : Freedom.
She wants her life, her happiness, a family. She has the right to the same. I hope she gets happiness for what she has worked so hard all her life and be happy.
