Why I feel art is much underrated

Art is a way of finding your own escape, through art artists express their own expression that can be in any form of art painting, sculpture, music, dance, drama etc. There has been huge technological advancement; people are engrossed in their mobile, laptops so art is not the only way to express oneself. Art is way too much underrated. A student learn from a very early age that the main stream subjects are science and mathematics, he is told to give more importance to these subjects in order to score more marks. Students having interest and aptitude in science subjects are considered much smarter than the others. As a result of which art remains underrated and science is esteemed more highly.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Our attitude towards art is always negative, having more interest and aptitude for one subject doesn’t makes one dumb just because of the fact that not having interest in other so called mainstream subjects. Through art artists depict their own selves and the society. Through art humans can find a way of their own betterment, art has always helped the society in every crisis, it helps us to examine ourselves. We are able to see the world through the artists eyes, so the impact of art is totally inescapable. Art gives us an identity in the society. It enriches our society, still science has always been considered as the solution to explain every complexity.

I always find happiness when I make a portrait or paint, art is like meditation it’s just me and my art, whenever I listen to some classic music I feel peaceful, it’s just like the voice of my own soul, so it’s always has been and will be my way of escape from the daily busy life. Sometimes we cannot express ourselves through mere words art explains ourselves in a righteous way. Through art language can never be a barrier; people from all over the world can understand the perspective of the artist. There is more need of art and we should value artist and their art, as contribution of art is incredible, there is no such necessary to have same language or common history in order to understand art.

How many people visit the museum and appreciated the work of the artist. To create a single masterpiece it requires lot of hard work, patience, and skill just as a physicist or engineer requires lot of study. Artists face a difficult time, maximum of the people don’t even consider art as a real job, and they aren’t considered as contributing members of the society and should get a real job instead. It takes great deal of understanding and rational mind to understand art to appreciate the artist’s work, always being engrossed in our daily life works and technology surrounded environment we don’t feel any need to connect with our real life and appreciate the beauty of art. We should free ourselves from such constraints and impart knowledge in ourselves and our coming generations, make them aware of the power of art and the magnificent changes that it can bring within us and our environment.
