This is something that every individual dreams about and yes it is also an ultimate fantasy for some like me. But deep inside there is also something very disturbing about this image.

Binge eating or eating junk food at night once in a while is fine, but sometimes, when it becomes a habit, that is where you need to step up and take charge. When I was post partum with my second kid, I developed this habit of binge eating. Not because I was hungry or over exerted, but because it gave me a secret pleasure.
Most of the times, I was not even hungry, when I ate, but it had almost become a habit for a couple of months. Earlier also I had posted about my weight issues and how being on the heavier side had always affected my self confidence to a certain extent. I need crisp with every meal, it is more of a habit that I am slowly and unconsciously trying to get rid off but somehow the more I try to do it the more I end up eating it.
Giving up this addiction of mid night munching was not easy for me but I am glad that I could finally succeed.
And How did I do it ?
I started writing again. Yes. Writing helps me to express myself and therefore writing once again helped me reduce my mental burden. I felt light and relaxed by the end of the day and ultimately got a deep slumber.
Sometimes, we let anxiety control our mind and that in turn controls our body.
IF we need to be physically fit it is of utmost importance that we take care of our mental health. When I was undergoing post partum depression, I took Solace in food without thinking about it. Similarly, when people are not able to handle their emotional and physical stress, they resort to substance abuse. Sadly, in India, when a person talks about mental health the world considers him crazy, but we forget that it is ok to be sensitive and express our concerns.
In the pressure to stay cool, we forget that to keep our minds cool, we dont need, substance abuse or binge eating, what we need is to talk about how we feel and express our emotions.
When I say about expressing your emotions, it does not have to be only on social media, you can share how you feel with the person you are most comfortable with. That is what will help you fight binge eating.
Follow a hobby no matter how young or old you are because taking care of your mental health should always be on your priority no matter what your age is. Don’t feel guilty for taking care of your mind and body over others.
If you loose your peace of mind, you loose your body as well.
